Foster Kidos Update

As most of you know, we have been doing foster care for about 2 1/2 years now. While the kids are with us, they are truely a part of our family. We treat them like they are our kids. We believe that is best for the kids who are having a hard time thru no fault of their own. The only thing about that is we miss them sooooooo much when they leave. It is like our own kids are moving out!!
Since they are such a part of us, they also become a part of your family, so we thought we would update you on what we know of how they are doing.
Our first kidos...Courtney and Lucus. They lived with us for 6 1/2 months. They are wonderful kids. Courtney was 12 and Lucas 2. They both celebrated birthdays with us. Then they went to go live with their mom/step-mom who had been in Iraq. They moved to Texas so we haven't gotten to see them since they left. But Courtney does email occasionally and they seem to be doing well in their new home.

Then there was 9 year old Tyler. We only had him with us for 24 hours and we hope all is well with him.

You all know what happened with Zachary-6- and Dustin-3. They are now Ward' s and we are so glad for that!!
Then there is Joseph and Nathan. We picked them up straight from the hospital at 6 days old!! Twin boys!!! At that time we also had Zachary, Dustin and Jason!! So I had my hands FULL. But it was such a wonderful time to have those guys. It was trying at times. They were "drug babies" so we had the effects of that, Nathan was on oxygen 24 hour a day, he cried about 16 hours a day, and he would quit breathing when he ate. That is enough to worry about, but add another newborn and 3 boys and needless to say, my house was a mess!! One day Jeff came home from work and said "I have never seen our house look like this!" He wasn't complaining though...those little guys had gotten into his heart too! In March we had to do one of the hardest thing I have ever had to do...take those guys, at almost 11 months old, to Rhode Island to live with their Grandpa and Grandma. But we have been very blessed since then. Their grandparents LOVE those little guys and they have continued to let us be a part of their lives! They keep us up-to-date on them with emails, pictures, and calls. They have even invited us to come to Rhode Island to see them. So over Labor Day weekend we are going for a visit. So I am sure we will have a great update and a ton of pictures when we return from that trip!
So, our lives have been busy, sometimes crazy, but when we think of what we are doing for those kidos--it is all worth it!!
